The Process ...
Good design is about getting the fundamentals right. About knowing what works and why, and the methods and techniques to achieve it. House Tutors address these issues by applying a more analytical approach to interiors - helping you to bridge the gap between the amateur and the professional via the following services:
1. Home visit with design guidance
(hourly rate)
Specific help with any project - be it the size or shape of a mirror to put above your fireplace (proportion according to width/height ratio) to effective lighting for your home (aim for layers of light & scale up).
2. Mini-tutorial with design guidance
(approximately two hours)
Our most popular service - involving a home visit with half of the time dedicated to
a brief explanation of the key principles of good design (a booklet to amplify is included) with focused individual guidance thereafter.
3. A personalised workshop for one or two people
This is a new bespoke interior design ‘course’ spread over two sessions where you learn the fundamentals of room design from planning, to colour schemes, to the rules about lighting and more… all applied to your own home. Then using the Be Your Own Interior Designer case (as illustrated) put theory into practice to produce a professional scheme of your own. This service provides a comprehensive overview of the design process and can be adapted to suit your specific needs. Session one can be taken independently of session two and lasts a short morning. Included is a booklet on Interior Style, specialist colour wheel/s and concept board
images.
4. Sample/swatch boxes
(schemes in a box made to order usually following a mini-tutorial/workshop)
